The AnaGate CAN FX4 gateway connects a PC, a embedded computer, a Simatic S7 or other device to up to two CAN busses via the TCP/IP network protocol (Ethernet). The AnaGate CAN basically works as a device with no own CAN identifier on the bus. The CAN identifier can be selected individually when sending telegrams.
The CAN messages are transparently embedded in TCP/IP telegrams to enable communication with any CAN device on the CAN network. This means that a CAN network can be addressed over the Internet or from multiple different PCs over a network. Higher protocol layers e.g. CANOpen®, Devicenet or J1939 can be used by the controller system too. WLAN and WWAN communication is possible too via supported USB devices.
The CAN interfaces of the AnaGate CAN FX4 can be operated in four different modes:
As Embedded PC with Linux platform the AnaGate CAN FX4 permits also the flexible extensions by downloading and running of application programs. The existing two USB interfaces and the analogue inputs/outputs can be accessed too.
The AnaGate CAN FX series is the latest hardware version of Analytica's CAN/CAN FD units working with a Dual ARM Cortex A9 (1GHz) prozessor with 512MB RAM and 4GB eMMC Flash. These group of gateways are only available in a industrial case which can be directly mounted to the DIN rail.
