The AnaGate CAN F8 gateway connects a PC, a embedded computer, a Simatic S7 or other device to up to four CAN busses via the TCP/IP network protocol (Ethernet). The AnaGate CAN basically works as a device with no own CAN identifier on the bus. The CAN identifier can be selected individually when sending telegrams.
The CAN messages are transparently embedded in TCP/IP telegrams to enable communication with any CAN device on the CAN network. This means that a CAN network can be addressed over the Internet or from multiple different PCs over a network. Higher protocol layers e.g. CANOpen®, Devicenet or J1939 can be used by the controller system too. WLAN communication is possible too via appropriate devices (access points).
The CAN interfaces of the AnaGate CAN F8 can be operated in four different modes:
As Embedded PC with Linux platform the AnaGate CAN F8 permits also the flexible extensions by downloading and running of application programs. The existing two USB interfaces and the igital inputs/outputs can be accessed too.
The AnaGate F series is the latest CAN/CAN FD platform of Analytica, working with a Dual ARM Cortex A9 (1GHz) prozessor with 512MB RAM and 4GB eMMC Flash.
