The AnaGate CAN F2 gateway connects a PC, a embedded computer, a Simatic S7 or other device to up to two CAN busses via the TCP/IP network protocol (Ethernet). The AnaGate CAN basically works as a device with no own CAN identifier on the bus. The CAN identifier can be selected individually when sending telegrams.
The CAN messages are transparently embedded in TCP/IP telegrams to enable communication with any CAN device on the CAN network. This means that a CAN network can be addressed over the Internet or from multiple different PCs over a network. Higher protocol layers e.g. CANOpen®, Devicenet or J1939 can be used by the controller system too. WLAN communication is possible too via appropriate devices (access points).
The AnaGate CAN F2 can be operated in four different modes:
The AnaGate CAN F2 is substantially more efficient than the established AnaGate CAN duo model because of its 32 bit Dual ARM Cortex A9 processor. With full bus utilization at high bus speed (e.g. 1MBit) on the CAN field bus all CAN messages can be processed and sent on to the personal computer by a AnaGate CAN F2.
As Embedded PC with Linux platform the AnaGate CAN F2 permits also the flexible extensions by downloading and running of application programs. The existing two USB interfaces and the igital inputs/outputs can be accessed too.
