AnaGate CANscout: CAN bus analysis software for Windows

With the AnaGate CANscout, Analytica introduces a desktop application for analysing, decoding, and interacting with the CAN bus – an alternative to Vector CANalyzer, PEAK PCAN-Explorer and Kvaser CANKing.

Karlsruhe 2020 – Analytica GmbH presents the AnaGate CANscout, a new Windows software for observing, evaluating and actively interacting with CAN and CAN-FD buses directly on the PC. The application was developed specifically for use with the CAN and CAN/Ethernet gateways of the AnaGate CAN series and is aimed at developers, technicians and commissioning engineers who rely on a reliable, easy-to-use analysis tool in their day-to-day work.

Analyse, decode, interact

CANscout receives and logs CAN telegrams in real time and displays them either as raw data or – via the built-in symbol editor – symbolically with plain-text labels for signals and values. The integrated dialog for sending CAN messages lets you freely compose telegrams, send them individually, or transmit them repeatedly on the bus at a configurable interval – including support for extended-ID and remote frames.

An alternative to established CAN analysis tools

With support for the CAN 2.0 A/B specifications as well as CAN FD, the AnaGate CANscout covers the common analysis tasks for which tools such as Vector CANalyzer, PEAK PCAN-Explorer or Kvaser CANKing are often used. Combined with the AnaGate CAN hardware already needed for field connectivity, users get a compact, cost-effective alternative without having to purchase additional analysis hardware.

System requirements and availability

The AnaGate CANscout runs on Windows® 11, 10, 8.1 and 7 (32/64-bit) and requires an AnaGate CAN adapter from Analytica GmbH for bus connectivity. A time-limited trial version with the full feature set is available as a free download, and the full version with a single-user license can be purchased through the AnaGate Shop. For all details, features and downloads, see the AnaGate CANscout product page.
