AnaGate CAN duo - CAN-TCP/IP Bridge / Gateway
Product description
The AnaGate CAN duo gateway connects a PC, a embedded computer, a
Simatic S7 or other device to up to two CAN busses via the TCP/IP network
protocol (Ethernet). The AnaGate CAN basically works as a device with no own CAN
identifier on the bus. The CAN identifier can be selected individually when
sending telegrams.
The CAN messages are transparently embedded in TCP/IP telegrams to enable communication with any
CAN device on the CAN network. This means that a CAN network can be addressed over the Internet or from multiple different PCs over a network.
Higher protocol layers e.g. CANOpen®, Devicenet or J1939 can be used by the controller
system too. WLAN communication is possible too via appropriate devices
(access points).
The AnaGate CAN duo can be operated in four different modes:
- In the gateway mode the CAN messages are transferred transparently over TCP/IP
between the CAN network and the controller platform (e.g. PC) in both
directions.
- In the listen mode CAN messages can be recorded without influencing
the CAN bus.
- In the internal bridge mode two arbitrary CAN networks can be
directly interconnected via the interface CAN A and CAN B.
- In the LAN bridge mode each interface can be
sepearately interconnected to an arbitrary CAN network via an additional AnaGate CAN
or AnaGate CAN uno/duo.
CAN messages are exchanged transparently over TCP/IP between the two AnaGate
devices.
The AnaGate CAN duo is substantially more efficient than the established
AnaGate CAN model because of its 32 bit processor.
With full bus utilization at high bus speed (e.g. 1MBit) on the CAN field bus
all CAN messages can be processed and sent on to the personal computer by a
AnaGate CAN duo.
As Embedded PC with Linux platform the AnaGate CAN duo permits also the flexible
extensions by downloading and running of application programs. The existing two
USB interfaces and the igital inputs/outputs can be accessed too.
