AnaGate CAN X2 - CAN-TCP/IP Bridge / Gateway
The AnaGate CAN X2 gateway connects a PC, a embedded computer, a
Simatic S7 or other device to up to two CAN busses via the TCP/IP network
protocol (Ethernet). The AnaGate CAN basically works as a device with no own CAN
identifier on the bus. The CAN identifier can be selected individually when
The CAN messages are transparently embedded in TCP/IP telegrams to enable communication with any
CAN device on the CAN network. This means that a CAN network can be addressed over the Internet or from multiple different PCs over a network.
Higher protocol layers e.g. CANOpen®, Devicenet or J1939 can be used by the controller
system too. WLAN and WWAN communication is possible too via supported USB devices.
The CAN interfaces of the AnaGate CAN X2 can be operated in four different modes:
- In the gateway mode the CAN messages are transferred transparently over TCP/IP
between the CAN network and the controller platform (e.g. PC) in both
- In the listen mode CAN messages can be recorded without influencing
the CAN bus.
- In the internal bridge mode each interface can be directly
interconnected to an arbitrary CAN networks via one of the other internal interfaces.
- In the LAN bridge mode each interface can be
separately interconnected to an arbitrary CAN network via an additional AnaGate CAN uno/duo/quattro/X2/X4/X8.
CAN messages are exchanged transparently over TCP/IP between the two AnaGate
As Embedded PC with Linux platform the AnaGate CAN X2 permits also the flexible
extensions by downloading and running of application programs. The existing two
USB interfaces and the analogue inputs/outputs can be accessed too.
The AnaGate CAN X series is the latest hardware version of Analytica's CAN
units - all provided CAN interfaces are implemented by a FPGA device. These
group of gateways are only available in a industrial case which can be directly
mounted to the DIN rail.
